Challenge

Nauvolaiset.fi is a community-based information portal for the island of Nauvo. The aim was to strengthen the local community and present Nauvo as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

The project addressed several challenges faced by the community.

• Low migration and awareness of what life on the island is like.
• Lack of visibility for local activities and services.
• Concerns about securing services for an aging population.
• The need for a centralized and reliable source of information for residents and visitors.
• Engaging local associations, volunteers, and stakeholders in community activities.

When information, services, and events can be found in one place, the community becomes more active and it is easy for visitors to participate.

Results

Nauvolaiset now serves as Nauvo’s central digital hub, offering services such as:

• Up-to-date information for residents and visitors.
• Service and business directory for local operators.
• Event calendar for events on the island.
• Community resources and publications.
• A platform that supports collaboration with local associations and projects.

The project has become a long-term digital resource for the Nauvo community. Cooperation with Pro Nauvo will continue to ensure that the platform remains up to date, functional, and a valuable resource for both residents and visitors.
